In this context, Allamah Mohammad Javad Balaghi, one of the guardians of reason and faith in the Najaf Seminary, played a foundational role as an influential theologian. His engagement with Christianity exemplified a scholarly, fair, and impactful encounter, defending Islamic identity as an aware theologian. This study, using a descriptive-analytical method, explores the dimensions and implications of this engagement, demonstrating that Balaghi’s approach to Christianity established a “critical-comparative theological paradigm.” The findings indicate that Balaghi’s interactions with Christianity were intellectually groundbreaking, leading to the formation of a new intellectual tradition in Shiite seminaries. This paradigm—based on textual-historical deconstruction of the Bible, rational critique of core Christian doctrines, establishment of the Qur’an as an epistemological reference, and systematic comparative methodology—elevated Islamic theology from a defensive stance to an active and critical position, leaving a lasting legacy for theologians and exegetes. در سپیده‌دم قرن بیستم، در میانه‌ تلاطم فکری ناشی از استعمار غربی و فعالیت‌های تبشیری مسیحی، جهان اسلام با چالش‌های بی‌سابقه‌ای در عرصه هویت و اندیشه روبرو بود. در این شرایط، علامه محمدجواد بلاغی، یکی از مرزبانان عقل و ایمان در حوزه علمیه نجف، به عنوان متکلمی تأثیرگذار، نقش بنیادینی ایفا کرد. مناسبات او با مسیحیت،نمونه‌ای درخشان از یک مواجهه علمی، منصفانه و اثرگذار بود که به عنوان یک متکلم آگاه از هویت اسلامی دفاع کرد. این پژوهش به روش توصیفی–تحلیلی، به واکاوی ابعاد و پیامدهای این مناسبات می‌پردازد و نشان می‌دهد که مواجهه بلاغی با مسیحیت، تأسیس «الگوواره‌ی کلام تطبیقی–انتقادی» بود. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که مناسبات علامه بلاغی با مسیحیت کنشی فکری و بنیان‌افکن بودند که به تأسیس سنت فکری نوین در حوزه‌های علمیه شیعه انجامید. این الگوواره که بر شالوده‌شکنی متنی-تاریخی کتاب مقدس، نقد عقلانی آموزه‌های بنیادین مسیحی، تأسیس معیار قرآنی به عنوان مرجع معرفت‌شناختی و رویکرد تطبیقی نظام‌مند استوار بود، الهیات اسلامی را از موضع دفاعی به جایگاه کنشگری فعال و انتقادی ارتقا داد و میراثی ماندگار برای متکلمان و مفسران به‌جا گذاشت.
